Travel informationNovosibirsk is the largest city in Siberia and an important industrial, scientific and transportation center. Located in the middle of West Siberian Plain, it was founded in 1893 around the future railway bridge crossing the great river Ob. The city is surrounded by forest-steppe; Altai Mountains are situated about 500km to the South from it.
CSR'2009 will take place in Sobolev Institute of Mathematics situated in the green and quiet Novosibirsk Akademgorodok, 20 km from the city center.
The main airport of Novosibirsk is Tolmachevo, with regular direct flights to Frankfurt, Munich, Seoul, Beijing, and other European and Asian cities. Also, there are daily flights to St. Petersburg and at least five daily flights to different airports of Moscow.
Novosibirsk is also an important station of the Trans-Siberian_Railway. The way from Moscow by train takes about 48 hours.
