The Institute of Mathematics of Siberian Branch of Russian Academy of Sciences (SB RAS) is situated in the so-called Akademgorodok, which is administratively a part of Novosibirsk, but actually this is a suburb of it. More than 20 Institutes of SB RAS together with the campus of the Novosibirsk University form a unique scientific space.
Visa and valid passport are needed to enter Russia for citizens of most other countries, except for some former Soviet Union countries (in what follows denoted by fSU). We ask participants to take care of these details by themselves. In case of any difficulties, please, contact the secretary Andrei Morozov at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The average daily temperature in August is about 20-25 C. Usually, August is sunny and it does not rain much. But one should know that Siberian weather is sometimes capricious; to be on safe side, please, do not forget an umbrella, jacket and swimming suit.
The Organizing Committee tries to provide a good weather during the conference.
Some companies offer direct flights to Novosibirsk from Europe and other places, which is most convenient. We recommend that you contact companies "Transaero" and "Siberia Airlines" first.
For most non-fSU-participants, the best way is to fly to Moscow and then change for some local company to Novosibirsk. Moscow has air connections to many places in the world. You can try "Aeroflot" company, for instance. It is strongly recommended that you buy tickets and make all necessary flight reservations in advance. We will have very limited opportunities to help you in case you buy a ticket with open date.
At some period of time, we will meet you and arrange transportation from Novosibirsk airport "Tolmachevo" and back, though you can use a shuttle bus No.108 from the airport to Akademgorodok as well; it goes every hour and arrives directly to the hotel "Zolotaya Dolina" ("Gold Valley"). The approximate time is about 1 hour.
Please, inform us as soon as possible about your flight, company, arrival and departure times as well as about times of your arrival and departure from Moscow (in case you change in Moscow).
Travelling by train from Moscow is not recommended (it takes more than 48 hours, and the level of service may be unacceptable).
Please, contact us in case of any other questions and problems.
